The inspiration

Bergamot fades fast; black pepper, nutmeg and elemi press the first mark. Cedar raises the heart, iris mutes it, vetiver hollows it. A rose slips in a memory, labdanum and cypress wood seal it. The base engraves for good: oud, gaiac, patchouli, amber, musk, vanilla — and oak wood, which keeps everything.
