The definition
The chypre is an architecture: a bergamot opening, a floral or fruity heart, and the founding accord of oakmoss, labdanum and patchouli. It is the most "constructed" family in perfumery — the family of the great classics.
What it brings
A chypre is known by its hold and its quiet authority: it does not follow the skin, it signs it.
